Free GLP-1 meal plan: a printable 1-day sample

Updated October 2026 · Based on FDA prescribing information and the 2025 joint nutrition advisory

One full day of eating on a GLP-1 medicine, free to print. Small meals at regular times, a protein source each time, fruits, vegetables and whole grains, and drinks spread through the day. It follows the 2025 joint nutrition advisory, not a fad.

Short answer A small breakfast, then a small meal or snack every 3 to 4 hours, each built around protein, with produce and modest whole grains, and water or unsweetened drinks all day. This pattern comes from the 2025 joint advisory of four US nutrition and obesity societies. Print it, try it, and adjust portions with your care team.

Why the day is built this way

Small breakfastThe advisory notes nausea "often occurs in the morning or after longer periods without eating" and suggests a small breakfast, then small meals every 3 to 4 hours.
Protein each timeThe advisory recommends eating protein-rich foods first; the Dietary Guidelines 2025 to 2030 say to prioritize protein at every meal.
Lower-fat cookingAvoiding large or high-fat meals can help with nausea and diarrhea, per the advisory.
Fiber and fluidsFiber from foods, increased gradually, with adequate fluids, to help with constipation.
No sugary drinksOn the advisory's "minimize" list, and the Dietary Guidelines say to avoid them.

If you take Wegovy tablets, breakfast timing follows your label instructions. If you take insulin or a sulfonylurea, do not skip meals or eat much less without your prescriber.

Free day or full plan?

This day is genuinely useful on its own: print it, rotate the proteins, and you have a week of simple meals. What it does not give you is variety, recipes with nutrition numbers, shopping lists or a plan for the bad days. That is what the paid plan adds:

It costs $19, it is nutrition support only, and it promises no weight result: no meal plan honestly can. See what is inside the 4-week plan. Or keep reading for free: how much protein, what to eat and what to limit.

Talk to your clinician This sample day is general nutrition information, not medical advice, and not a personal prescription. Follow your prescriber's instructions for your medication, and ask your clinician or a registered dietitian before using it if you have kidney disease, an eating disorder, or diabetes treated with insulin or a sulfonylurea. The Zepbound and Wegovy labels and Medication Guides tell patients to contact their healthcare provider right away for severe stomach pain that will not go away (sometimes spreading to the back), nausea, vomiting or diarrhea that does not go away, gallbladder signs such as upper stomach pain, fever, yellow skin or eyes, or clay-colored stools, and signs of low blood sugar or a serious allergic reaction.

Frequently asked questions

Is this free GLP-1 meal plan printable?
Yes. Use your browser's print command on this page to print the sample day or save it as a PDF. It fits on one or two pages.
Can I repeat this day all week?
You can, but variety helps you cover more nutrients. Swap the protein (chicken, fish, eggs, tofu, beans, Greek yogurt) and the vegetables from day to day. The 4-Week GLP-1 Meal Plan PDF does this for 28 days.
Is the portion size right for me?
Portions on a GLP-1 depend on your appetite, your medicine and your health. Eat the protein part first, stop when you are comfortably satisfied, and ask your clinician or a registered dietitian to adjust the plan, especially if you take insulin or a sulfonylurea.
